is unveiling today a new interpretation of its iconic Carrera Chronograph that takes inspiration from the John Player Special black-and-gold livery which became legendary in Formula 1 in the 1970s and 80s.
Launched in 1970, the first Carrera in yellow gold was the Heuer reference 1158CHN, the favourite model of the then-CEO’s Jack Heuer, the man behind the development of the Carrera (you can read more about the history of TAG Heuer

The Carrera 1158CHN was gifted to legendary Ferrari Formula 1 drivers such as Ronnie Peterson, Niki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni during the partnership between Heuer and Ferrari. These rare Carrera models have become highly sought-after collector’s items and symbols of the golden age of racing.
The new Carrera Chronograph in yellow gold ref. CBN2044.FC8313 comes in a classic 42 mm case made of solid 18K 3N yellow gold, with gold pushers and crown. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 bars (100 metres / 330 feet).
Protected by a domed beveled sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, the black sunray brushed dial offers the ideal contrast for the two “azuré” and gilded gold chronograph subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock.
The indexes and hands are plated in 18K 3N yellow gold and polished, enhancing the dial’s legibility and elegance.
At 6 o’clock a discreet running second indicator and a date aperture complete the ensemble.
The in-house chronograph movement, Calibre Heuer 02, and its black oscillating mass can be appreciated through the sapphire crystal case back. Equipped with vertical clutch and column wheel, this 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) movement provides outstanding timekeeping precision and performance along with a power reserve of 80 hours.
Matched to a black large-scale alligator strap with a yellow gold pin buckle, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph in Yellow Gold ref. CBN2044.FC8313 has a price of CHF 20,000 / Euro 19,400 / US$ 20,500.
